Current Information:Born-Islington Le Treport Military Cemetery, France After the Battle of Loos (25th September-mid October, 1915) 19th London along with the rest of 141 Brigade, 47th Division, remained in the Loos sector for the winter of 1915-1916, alternating between periods in the front line with those in support and in rest. Unfortunately the battalion diaries for September and October 1915 are no longer available so it is not possible as yet to give any further information concerning the death of Private Ockenden other to say that he died of wounds on 2nd October. However his burial place far behind the line at Le Treport suggests that he was wounded during the early stages of the Battle of Loos and was evacuated to a hospital there. |
